Our trainers and consultants have up-to-date knowledge of the key issues and challenges that schools face and can provide a practical approach to help schools constantly improve. With senior management experience in education as headteachers, local authority school improvement consultants, ex-HMI and Ofsted inspectors, our team have the skills to provide high quality, effective training and consultancy tailored to the specific needs of schools and academies.
Brian Oppenheim
Brian is Cambridge Education’s director of school improvement. He has extensive experience as a teacher, senior leader, advisory teacher and as a local authority inspector. Brian was director of Ofsted inspection services, principal inspector for Essex and ILEA, and a GCSE chief examiner. He has extensive experience of inspection, curriculum development and school improvement in primary and secondary schools. Brian is a lead Ofsted inspector and also specialises in training, consultancy and evaluation for schools in the UK and overseas, including Europe, Asia, Middle East, and the USA.
Anne Munt-Davies
Anne has extensive experience as a consultant, trainer and Ofsted inspector and works closely with several Higher Education Institutes to develop accreditation for professional learning. She has been a headteacher, deputy headteacher, teacher, and advisory teacher and has developed expertise in all phases and aspects of the curriculum and school life. Anne provides consultancy and training on a variety of school improvement topics including coaching and mentoring, classroom observation. She has worked on a range of school improvement activities both in the UK and internationally and worked for six years in the USA.
Marian Prior
Marian has significant experience in deputy headship, Ofsted inspections, curriculum design, staff deployment and timetabling, annually writing timetables for several schools concurrently. Marian has also provided training in Kuwait, Cyprus, Thailand, America, Russia and Australia on a wide variety of educational themes to senior leaders in schools, classroom teachers, inspectors and state educational advisors.
Margaret Byrne
Margaret Byrne has a vast experience in education having led two very successful primary schools and worked as a development officer with a local authority. She now provides inspirational training on leadership, whole-school approaches to learning and teaching, behaviour management, early intervention and parental partnership. Margaret has also carried out International reviews and training in China.
Chris Deane-Hall
Chris is an accredited trainer and course director for Ofsted inspectors, and regularly participates in Section 5 inspections as a lead and team inspector. Chris specialises in cluster training and development work on a wide range of school improvement issues, particularly leadership and management and self-evaluation. Other specialist areas include inspection, review, advisory and consultancy work for schools, clusters and local authorities in the UK and overseas, including USA, France and Kuwait.
Penny Holden
Penny has experience working as a consultant, quality assessor, trainer, local authority inspector and Ofsted inspector. She has been headteacher, teacher, and advisory teacher and has developed expertise in all phases and aspects of the curriculum and school life. She was interim director for schools for City of Westminster and seconded to Ofsted for development of Proportionate Inspection Project (PIP). Her inspection, consultancy and advisory work has taken her into many schools in the UK and abroad including, Nigeria, America, Macedonia and China.
Angela Cook
Angela has teaching and leadership experience in schools, including those for young people with additional learning needs. Angela is an experienced inspector of both mainstream and independent schools. She is heavily involved in international work and is committed to developing and facilitating courses for teachers wishing to incorporate the global dimension into the school curriculum.
Dan Buckley
Dan is a practice leader in the development of new pedagogy, student empowerment and transformation in schools. He has gained national and international recognition for his work and has presented as key-note speaker on numerous occasions in the UK and overseas. More recently he has developed the ‘Personalisation by Pieces Framework’ which is an alternative curriculum approach deliverable through the web.
Soola Georgiou
Soola works in the Education Welfare Service, with previous experience as an English teacher. Soola provides advice and training to headteachers, designated child protection staff and whole school training on child protection and safeguarding. Soola also has experience in delivering Children’s Workforce Development Council Safer Recruitment training to schools and education service staff and as a court officer and preparing court documents.
