Who is it suitable for?
All primary teachers.
Outcomes
Teachers will learn how to integrate a range of speaking and listening techniques into maths learning opportunities. Children will be able to develop their reasoning and communicating skills to support them during problem solving.
Programme
This bespoke whole-school CPD may involve a combination of INSET, interim tasks and follow-up in-class consultant support and can include:
- promoting and developing pupils’ thinking via questioning
- teaching and modelling key skills
- a focus on promoting social learning
- trying out interactive techniques
- developing communicating, explaining and reasoning and assessing against Assessing Pupils’ Progress (APP) criteria.
