Who is it suitable for?
Line managers of pastoral staff, for example, learning mentors, parent support advisors.
Outcomes
The course will:
- help you understand the purpose of supervision in the school setting
- help you use the Common Assessment Framework and support Lead Professionals in supervision
- provide each participant with a toolkit to use in schools
- help you to understand the importance of the relationship between the manager/ supervisor and practitioner and how to develop and maintain a structured approach to this work
- help you to support and develop the staff you manage more effectively.
Programme
Using a supervision toolkit, participants will be guided through a model of supervision which explores four key areas:
- the goal of supervision
- the supervisory process
- the supervisory relationship
- the organisational setting
Participants will be provided with tools that support their practice in these areas, for example, writing supervision contracts.
