Overview

This comprehensive two day training programme covers everything you need to manage Assessment for Learning (AfL) in your school from engaging staff in AfL CPD activities to reviewing and extending assessment practice to support effective teaching and learning. You will review the strong links between AfL, personalisation and motivation and the course will provide strategies to support pupils in adopting positive mindsets and stances. The programme also addresses the requirements of the Assessment for Learning strategy objectives and how schools can continue and improve on their current practice. Our ‘AfL Toolkit’ can be purchase seperatley to ensure further consistent INSET training can be carried out after your training.

Outcomes

Understand the links between Assessment for Learning, motivation and personalisation.
Develop strategies to support pupils in adopting positive mindsets to increase motivation.
Review a web-based resource ‘Personalisation by Pieces’ to help support online reporting to parents, a requirement for secondary by 2010 and primary 2012.
Use your ‘AfL Toolkit’ to deliver further consistent and high quality INSET and fully embed Assessment for Learning in your school.
