Course duration 1 day - 09:30 - 15:30 Who is the course suitable for? Heads of year/ pastoral leaders. Course overview The job of head of year has changed. What was once a broadly pastoral role has evolved, with post holders expected to be leaders of learning, using their knowledge of the whole child to guide pupils towards aspiration and ultimate academic success. This course will look at how that job can be made manageable. Participants will focus on how to work strategically, how to manage their tutor team, how to handle performance data and how to influence the teaching and learning experience of their year group. Outcomes - Confidence in managing a year group's pastoral and academic needs.
