This specialist course is held at our London teacher professional development centre. Our specialist courses cover all aspects of training required to support schools’ continuing improvement and management.
Course duration 2 days - 9:30 - 15:30 Who is the course suitable for? KS1 and KS2 teachers, Primary teaching assistants. Course overview Teachers will develop their subject knowledge in mathematics with improved understanding of how to link with appropriate pedagogy. This will support children’s progress and attainment in mathematics. There will also be in-depth sessions about shape and space. Each session will also consider how to embed ‘using and applying’ to secure learning. In addition, there will be a separate sessions on problem solving and mathematical reasoning. Outcomes
This course is designed to promote good practice in the teaching and learning of mathematics. It will include:
- The effective use of resources to promote learning.
- Approaches to teaching the key areas of mathematics.
- Focus on number including multiplication and division, shape and space.
