Course duration Half day - 09.30 - 12.30 Who is the course suitable for? People responsible for co-ordinating and leading E-safety in schools. Course overview This half day course will provide a comprehensive and practical support in managing E-safety in a school, by implementing Becta’s PIE model (policy, infrastructure and education) for E-safety back in school, including: - tools to support audits of existing practice in school
- developing an E-safety policy (Including Acceptable Use Agreements for staff and pupils)
- overview of the educational online resources available including CEOP, Childnet and Teachtoday
- access to schemes of works and resources for assemblies and Safer Internet Day
- overview of the online training resources available for staff and governors.
School based follow-up sessions are available to support staff training, pupil/parent workshops and school assemblies. Outcomes - Have an understanding of the key E-safety issues facing school communities.
- Have an understanding of the important organisations supporting E-safety, including CEOP, Childnet and Teachtoday.
- Have the tools and resources needed to audit existing practice in their own school, and develop effective policy (Including AUPs) and education programmes for staff, parents and pupils.
