Overview

This programme will support you in making Every Child Matters an integral part of your curriculum. The ECM agenda promotes activities beyond the school: parental involvement; bringing together experts from the community; recreational enjoyment; taking responsibility for events and activities and encountering challenging and unfamiliar contexts. This training day supports schools to develop and meet the aims which underpin the New Curriculum. The ‘Making Every Child Matter resource pack’ which includes an ‘Outcomes Audit Tool’, DVDs and INSET activities is included to support further INSET training and enable you to review how you address each of the five ECM outcomes in school.

Outcomes

  • Understand the place of the Every Child Matters agenda in and across the curriculum.
  • Understand why each outcome is important and its impact on curriculum design.
  • Differentiate types of learning experiences that can be designed to meet each of the outcomes.
  • Support school self evaluation processes in identifying how the outcomes section the 2009 Ofsted framework support ‘how well all pupils are doing…..’
