Course duration
Evening session - 18:30 - 20:00
Who is the course suitable for?
School governors.
What will you learn?
The challenge for many schools now will be to improve even further – to outstanding and beyond! Participants are asked to bring a copy of their SEF, their SDP and their school’s most recent inspection report.
What will it cover?
The purpose of this training session is to clarify and help to enhance governing bodies’ roles in the 5 Stage Cycle for School Improvement so that they impact even more positively on the performance of their schools. In an interactive session we will explore the context of school improvement before examining schools’ Self Evaluation Framework (SEF) and School Development Plans (SDPs). In particular we will consider how to analyse the SEF, validate judgements and track priorities through from the SEF to the SDP. We will identify characteristics of outstanding schools’ governing bodies and action plans to address perceived areas for development in participants’ own governing bodies.
In-school, cluster and federation training is also available for this course and can be tailored to your needs. Please call us on +44 (0)1223 463757 for more details.
