Course duration
Twilight session - 16:30 - 18:00
Who is the course suitable for?
Health and social care teachers or subject leaders
What will you learn?
Health and Social Care courses introduce students to a wide variety of work in a range of health and social care services and organisations. Practical approaches including group project work, research and visits to and by relevant organisations give students opportunities to learn about a variety of careers within the sector.
Teachers of Heath and Social Care sometimes feel isolated, working on their own or in very small departments in schools. This NEW network meeting provides an opportunity to network and share good practice and resources with teachers from other schools, get ideas for coursework and speak to Islington services that classes may be able to visit (or who can visit schools).
This first meeting may be followed up by further meetings, depending on demand.
What will it cover?
- Consider good practice in health and social care and how to develop the subject in your school.
- Discuss issues and challenges and how to tackle them.
- Explore resources for teaching and learning, including making links with representative(s) from relevant care services.
In-school, cluster and federation training is also available for this course and can be tailored to your needs. Please call us on +44 (0)1223 463757 for more details.
