- How to develop a coaching approach to classroom observation using post-observation discussion

- How to utilise the resource pack (see page 41) to demonstrate effective teaching and the resulting good learning to staff, parents and governors

- The reasons why we observe lessons; identifying the benefits and concerns of lesson observation
- The need for a method and for consistency, developing a lesson observation policy in schools
- Exploring and using the new Ofsted criteria for teaching and learning
- Using a coaching approach to lesson observation, using coaching questions to develop teaching
- Issues as trainers and individual action planning for positive change and improvement
