Who is the course suitable for?

The programme is aimed at teaching staff keen to support each other in raising teaching into the “outstanding” category and so make a greater impact on learning.

Course overview

A one day training programme during which participants will be able to work collaboratively to explore the key qualities of good and outstanding teaching in line with the new Ofsted Inspection criteria (Framework 2009).  There will be the opportunity to take part in a range of practical and interactive activities designed to inform participants as well as empowering them in continuing professional development for themselves and for their colleagues.

Outcomes

  • Understand and use the new Ofsted Inspection criteria for observing and judging good and outstanding teaching.
  • Use observation accurately to identify strengths and possible areas for development.
  • Use a coaching approach to develop each other’s teaching.
