Who is the course suitable for? Headteachers, senior managers, assessment and assessment for learning coordinators, and anyone else wishing to engage staff more fully in using and applying AfL to raise standards across the school. Course overview This two day practical training course looks in detail at Sharing Learning Outcomes, Making Feedback Count, Asking Better Questions and Pupil Assessment in order to support Assessing Pupil Progress (APP). There will be time to review the strong links between AfL, personalisation and motivation and the course will provide strategies to support pupils in adopting positive mindsets and stances. The programme also addresses the requirements of the strategy objectives and how schools can continue and improve on their current practice. Outcomes - Understand the links between AfL, motivation and personalisation.

- Provides time and support for action planning.
- How to use your AfL Toolkit to deliver consistent and high quality INSET in your school.
- Review a web-based resource to support online reporting to parents, a requirement for secondary by 2010 and primary 2012.
The Afl Toolkit is included as part of the course to support in-school learning with practical classroom strategies to support CPD INSET.
